The Snake Appeared Three Times To Guide Me

A few days ago, I began my usual walk through a local park carrying a quiet sadness. I sense of heaviness has been sitting on my chest for several days.

A few minutes into my walk, something shifted.

I saw a snake.

My first reaction was fear.

I stepped back, my breath caught in my throat.

As I watched her beautiful brown skin shimmer in the sun while she effortlessly glided through the grass, my fear softened into awe.

I realized how deeply conditioned I had been to be frightened of snakes; even though another part of me was fascinated by the ancient wisdom she holds.

In many spiritual traditions, the snake is a powerful symbol of healing, transformation, and rebirth. She is a messenger of Mother Earth and a reminder that poison can be alchemized into medicine.

I stood there watching her move with grace and poise, until she disappeared into the bushes.

Then, 35 minutes later, as I returned along the same path, she was there again.

Right at the same spot!

Not once, but twice.

It was a clear confirmation.

As I, once again, stood still, watching her, I felt myself attuning to a message I needed to receive.

I’ve been shedding a layer of myself that had unconsciously fused with my identify; a part of me that sought validation of my worth through external accomplishment and achievement.

When I held that part of me in love, so much sadness rose to the surface. It took me several days to move through it.

The snake felt like a mirror of my internal process. A part of me was dying and something different was being born.

Old internal structures were falling away. Less driven by the need to accomplish, I felt more open and more receptive.

I felt more available for Divine guidance.

The following day I went for a walk in another park that I frequent, a wilderness park.

As was returning home from my walk, the same type of snake crossed my path!

This time, I chuckled.

She obviously had more lessons to teach me about primal instincts, intuition and the life force itself.

When we live in scarcity, we often believe that having more will finally bring fulfillment. Yet more alone cannot create satisfaction when there is no space within us to truly receive it. Imagine a small cup continuously filled with water. At some point it overflows. Nothing more can be held. This is what happens when we chase more from a place of contraction. More money. More validation. More love. When the nervous system and energetic field do not feel safe to receive, even abundance can...

Hi dear, I felt like sharing one of my poems with you today, so here it is: Success Do the stars succeed when they shine their light in the dark velvet night? Why do we toil under pressure in the name of success? Have we forgotten that we are made of stars made from the air we breathe made from the rivers we drink made from the rhythms of the Earth that held our first steps Do plants rush to success or do they open to the sun being risen from inside by the Earth that witnesses their cycles...
